Welcome to the 2009 Iowa Power Farming Show The 54rd Iowa Power Farming Show is set for February 3-5, 2009, at the Hy-Vee Exhibit Hall, Wells Fargo Arena and Veterans Auditorium in Des Moines, IA. Designed to showcase new equipment and products for farmers, the Iowa Power Farming Show is the largest indoor ag shows in the upper Midwest and one of only two Midwest ag shows bringing together major machinery manufacturers and exhibitors from around the world. Exhibitors continue to tell us that the quality of attendees is what sets the Iowa Power Farming Show apart from other farm shows. 58.5% of all farmer attendees stated they planned to purchase equipment over $20,000 in 2007; 83.0% with over 1500 acres. The average acreage size of farmer was 1242 and 58.5% of the farmers also raise either cattle or hogs. Why do manufacturers go to the show? They go to solicit feedback on products, gather information and in general use the show as an evaluation tool and then sales will follow. It's a necessity for businessmen who need to network and meet their customers face-to-face. There is also an expectation from farmers that a manufacturer will be there.
Farmers attend for the social aspect, maintaining contacts, visiting
specific companies and staying informed on new products. For many, it's a
chance to escape from the fields to kick some tires. |
